S.U. HIF carburetor bottom (fuel bowl/jet
components) disassembled
for cleaning and to loosen "frozen" jet. Unlike earlier S.U.
carburetors, jet is totally enclosed in carburetor body,
and bottom cover must be removed to be
able to extract and clean jet.
1974 MGB GT
Clutch slave cylinder removed and cleaned.
1974 MGB GT
Many years of use cause clutch slave cylinder
push rod wear,
which gives the clevis pin hole an oval shape. The push rod
is constantly exposed to road grit and grime, and wear
on the push rod and clevis pin occurs even though
the joint may be greased.
Many years of use can also result in pitting
on the
inner surface of the aluminum clutch slave cylinder.
